In the Clean Mama Routine, Sunday is a day of rest and relaxation and we just do the Daily Tasks. Taking a couple minutes on Sunday (or Friday or Saturday) to evaluate the week behind going into the week ahead is a great way to set your week up for success.
Here are 5 simple steps to consider as you head into a fresh week.
Step 1: Identify Your Desired Outcome for the Week
Your week needs a clear objective. What do you want to achieve by the weekend? Whether it’s tackling a cleaning project you’ve been postponing, reaching a work milestone, or ensuring your family enjoys a more organized living space, define your success. This step sets the direction for your week.
Step 2: Acknowledge Challenges
Everyone faces challenges, and acknowledging them upfront can help you prepare. Is it the overwhelming laundry, a cluttered garage, spring sports for the kids, or a packed work schedule? List these challenges. Recognizing them is the first step in overcoming them.
Step 3: Seek Guidance
For your Sunday reset, let Clean Mama be your guide. Use the checklists and signature Cleaning Routine to navigate through your week smoothly. For professional or personal goals outside the home, think about what resources or people can help guide you.
Step 4: Plan Your Actions
With a plan for the week in place, it’s time to plan your actions. Break down your desired outcome into manageable tasks. Start by integrating Clean Mama’s Daily Tasks to keep your home in tip-top shape alongside your other goals. Start taking action. The journey might require adjustments, so be flexible. Celebrate small wins, like a freshly vacuumed living room or a completed project. Progress, not perfection, is the goal.
Step 5: Analyze Results and Prepare/Push Items to the Next Week
At the end of the week, reflect on what you accomplished and what didn’t go as planned. Understanding your setbacks is crucial for planning your next week. What can you learn from them? How can you adjust your strategy? With this week’s reflections in mind, start thinking about the next. What will your focus be? Begin the planning phase again, but this time with the insights gained from the previous week.
Ready for a little reset? Use these steps to help you each week – taking just a couple minutes to reset for the week ahead might be just what you need to put the week behind you and move ahead to the next week.
